Please note the shifts occur between 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday from September-December or January-April or May-August
Computerized Notetakers are required to attend all University course lectures . They are required to be physically present in the classroom. The Computerized Notetaker is required electronically; lectures, videos, questions, comments, presentations, group activities and any other information relating to content or participant interaction. Computerized Note-Takers Note takers must ensure notes are accurate, clear, concise and include all necessary information. Proofread, edit and format notes after meetings. Provide completed work to Citywide Notes Ltd. within a designated timeframe.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend assigned location to document conversations, lectures, discussions and other activities occurring in scheduled hours using a laptop computer.
- Listen closely to lectures to develop high quality, accurate notes.
- Arrive 15 minutes before the start of the class to prepare for set up.
- Proofread, edit and format notes after each assignment.
- During allocated editing time, ensure notes are accurate, clear, concise and include all necessary information.
- Provide completed work to CLSH within a designated time frame.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Preference given to applicants with 2 year college program in court reporting/real time captioning
- Must have access to own Laptop with a minimum 13” screen and 3 hour battery life
- Must have a minimum typing speed of 70 wpm
- Must pass Computerized Notetaker Screening
- Strong writing and editing skills, including proficient use of grammar.
- Experience in a Canadian post-secondary environment an asset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Demonstrated ability to learn new subject area quickly, analyze and summarize relevant information.
- Have a positive and professional attitude, dependability.
- Strong listening skills i.e. listening to multiple people in a conversation, able to block out ambient noise.
- Focused time management skills.
- Can meet deadlines.

This position is ideal for part-time Graduate students and freelancers.
